So have we finally come home to our larger and smaller four-legged friends again! Eight-weeks-old kittens are crazily cute ! It's great fun to look at them when they are playing – they play with each other, with toys or with nothing at all! A kitten can jump around seemingly for no reason, bounce in different directions and make funny jumps with their tail in the air. It is as if the body is too full of energy that just has to come out – and so it is probably!
They like our company very much! They now have got to come out in the living room too – as soon as we come to them, they come forward and want to get our attention. Sometimes they sit at the gate between the living room and the hall, looking longingly out – and get so excited when we come to them.
It will take some time before they can get out into the hall because our stairway to the upper floor is open between each step. The kittens have to be a little wiser and less spontaneous before they get to practice how to master the stairs…
The living room is good enough for a while now, they can also still be in the kitchen and the laundry room so they have plenty of room to run around in. When they had come out in the living room, they went around and sniffed curiously at everything and enjoyed soon to have had access to even more toys than before.
It took a few hours but soon they also discovered the sofa – fun to play in and great to sleep in.
The three redtabby guys has now become so similar that we once again have put collars on two of them. It would be a bit boring if we one day can not figure out who's who… When the white on the paws becomes a little clearer, we hope to be able to separate them that way.
Once with every litter we take them out in the garden to shoot the weekly photos, that we have done this week. This is done under controlled conditions, only one kitten at a time and aat the end the entire litter in a transportation box. If the normal shooting is a challenge, this is the biggest of them all – there is so much competing for attention! This day was also a bit windy, giving it all an even more exciting dimension. The group photo is the most fun and the most difficult – this is a photo that shows how it mostly looked like…
