Now our small ones in the P litter are no longer so small… They can jump up in places where they have not previously climbed, and they are quite strong now. This morning, for example, we found a men's shoe under the kitchen table, it had been pulled there in the shoelace by a little angelic ball of fur…
At the age of ten weeks, you can also see that the kittens start “grow out of themselves”. The ears are a little too big for the head, eye color fades… They are becoming youths more than children, when they become adults it corrects itself again. Of course, they are incredibly cute anyway!
When the kittens play with each other, they can be really rough. It is good, although it can look a little scary. They train to become grownups and at the same time they become resilient. Once several years ago we had a lonely kitten in the litter, she was not nearly as resilient and easy to handle as other kittens.
Now all three have understood how to get up into the climbing tree as well, Polly figured it out several days before her siblings. Our climbing tree is good for kittens, it's quite high to the bottom ledge which means they won't get up into the tree until they're wise enough not to jump directly onto the floor from the top ledge… Now they understand how to get down one step at a time, so it feels safe.
Another thing we can notice now is that the kittens are somewhat more independent from each other. Although they still are with each other almost all the time, you can now sometimes find them sleeping in completely separate places. Sometimes, of course, they fool around with each other right into their sleep, then they also fall asleep together.
In the living room we have a basket with lots of toys for the cats. The kittens haven't cared much for it, they have played with the things that are already on the floor. Today they had knocked the basket over, and then it was as if a paradise opened up for them. Many new things – and hard to choose! Here are a couple of short videos – not high quality but you can tell they are having fun!
We have now decided to keep Penny in our cattery. We have always planned that we should keep one of the females but it has been so difficult to choose. Both have such fine qualities! We realized we had to make a decision, so now Polly is for sale. She is such a happy, cozy and funny kitten – and super cute! So we are now looking for a wonderful home for her.
As usual, you can find this week's more arranged photos at P litter's page.
