Last week the kittens had their first visit to the vet. It went so nicely and smoothly, they were calm in the car on the way and they were curious once we were there. They were examined and got their syringe without protest, afterwards they were so tired that they had already fallen asleep before we had said goodbye.
Up until now, we have had a gate between the living room and the hall to keep the kittens on one side. About a week ago they learned how to get over and with that they are now allowed to be in the whole house. It's fantastically cozy but means more responsibility with closing front doors and such. A big advantage is that they can come and lie down with us on their own initiative while we watch TV.
Now they have occupied the bed in the bedroom as a favorite place, mother Nellie and grandmother Embla also often rest there. However, it won't just be resting there for the kittens, sometimes they play hide and seek between the pillows.
They are still happy in the climbing tree, they like to lie up there and sleep.
Nellie still insists on giving her children a sip every now and then, she meows in a particular way and then they come to her – even if they are currently sleeping. Otherwise, she has started to tell them that it is getting time to move away from home, sometimes she hisses at them. Everything is as it should be with that.
The outdoor room is a particularly exciting place to be now that the whole house has become the kittens' home. There is yet another couch to chase each other on, and it is exciting to look at the world outside the glass.
We now have found wonderful homes for both Perino and Polly, it feels so good to know they will be fine. When they are 14 weeks they are ready to move to their future families. Penny will stay with us.
We end this week's post with Polly, who settled down on the kitchen sofa. You can find the finer photos of all of them at P litter's page.
