Now they have a good appetite for food, our darlings. They receive wet food twice a day and always have dry food and water available. Perino needed a while for us to first offer him some wet food on our finger, but now he goes straight to the plate with the food and eats it together with his sisters.
It's still lovely to eat from mom, it is probably as much warmth and closeness as it is to drink the milk. Nellie seems to love those moments as much as her babies do.
They now like playing with toys very much, to climb things and also to fool around with each other. They still can't jump very high yet – such as up on a chair – and in other words are not ready to jump down from such heights either. The toys they have to climb on are quite low so far.
Now they have expanded their world so that they can also be in the kitchen. How happy they were about that! It only took a few minutes and they were running around among the chair legs and fooling around with the carpet. It's fun for us too to have them around most of the time, and so they get used to more noises than those from us and from the washing machine…
New environments also make them tired, they sleep well in strange places – yet so long always together. Today when we were about to cut their claws – we do that once a week – Polly fell asleep in my arms while we were cutting. We usually cut the claws when they start to get tired so that they associate claw cutting with a calm feeling. It's going well.
Whenever we have kittens, we are grateful that family and friends come to visit so that the kittens get used to different people. The visitors know that they are tasked with socializing kittens!
