Here is a post about Nellie, our new addition to the family. She was born here at the beginning of May, now she is five months old and we enjoy her every day!
She is so confident and friendly, and very social. She is with us all the time and loves to be with us when we have friends for a visit. She wants to be in our lap or in our arms and loves when we cuddle with her. She is also completely fearless, there doesn't seem to be anything that scares her.
Nellie will probably be a pretty big and nice female, like her mother. Five months old, she already weighs just over 3 kg.
Right now, her mother Embla is a little annoyed with Nellie, Embla thinks that Nellie should have moved away from home a long time ago… At the same time, they can have a lot of fun together and rush through the house.
Nellie seems completely unaffected by her mother growling and grinning at her, she just sits and watches Embla calmly. It's good that she's doing that, in that way the whole thing is de-dramatized. Eventually, they will become good friends.
We hope that Nellie will be able to have kittens with us in the future, we wish to have her first litter next summer. We believe that she will be able to become a really good mother, just like her own mother. Embla is now neutered, after five litters she is really worth retiring.
