The older kittens get the more independent individuals they are. They now make more choices of their own than before when they made more like their brothers. Now one of them can come all by oneself to the person who cooks in the kitchen, sit down right next to and look up, hoping to get some attention.
They are certainly very lovely to have around, these little guys. They are so easy to handle, every day, they get brushed and get some “paw massage” – the last thing because it should be natural to cut the claws. Once a week the claws are cut and it works fine.
They are happy and sleeping in a lap or in someone's arms – if we take the opportunity to pick them up when they are a little sleepy of course. The majority of their waking hours they are very playful, then they are not so interested to lie in your lap, but would prefer to climb about, chase anything that moves or bite someone's tail, ear or leg. On a cat, of course!
They eat wet food with good appetite twice a day, when we say ksksksks all five come rushing because that's the sound we use to signal food time. Dry food is also popular, that they can eat whenever they wish during the day.
The also suckle from mother Embla occasionally during the day, almost never all at the same time even though they sometimes try. It's a little crowded now… In order to get space one or two of them need to lie over Embla's body. Embla has an angel's patience but it now happens that she protests and don't allow them to suckle when they try.
As of the week coming, no one in the family has no longer holidays, it means that the kittens must fend for themselves – with the help of Embla – during the days for the first time. It will work out just fine, it is worse for us, we are going to be homesick… It has been a luxury to be able to be home with them for so many weeks!
10-weeks' photos can be found at the M litter's page. We end with yet a couple of sleeping photos…
