We are on our vacation now, but we get frequent reports from our cat guards at home. It's hard to know who's enjoying the most – the cat guards for the opportunity to cuddle with big and small cats on a full-time basis or those big and small ones for all the kind attention!
One of the first days after we left we got a funny story about how the daily weighing of the kittens was performed. Because the cat guards then had a bit of trouble seeing a difference in some of the kittens, they started with the exclusion method. They use pictures and descriptions we have left for them. First Leo, the only red pointed, then Laban, who's coat is the darkest. Then it was easy to find Loke as the only male left. First of the females was Lisen who has the darkest tail of the three. Then Lilly who is a little prickly on the little nose (the tortie point appears there on her) and then Lovis who has bigger eyes.
One after another, the kittens were placed in the laundry basket after weighing so they would not commingle with the others again… One of the cat guards watched the little ones in the basket so they did not climb over the edge. It's fun to imagine this nice form of circus entertainment!
The little ones all feel good, they eat with good appetite and gain 20 grams or more per day. That means they are growing fast now! Of course, we are longing for them, but it feels good that they are having a good time – and that they activate our cat- and houseguards.
No “nice photos” this time, that will be when we get home!
