In mid-February Ellen and Tova were castrated. The surgeries went well and they quickly recovered. Ellen and Tova have been our first breeding females, they have taught us a lot about being breeder. We are so thankful that they both had simple births, a lot of milk and took care of their young ones in an amazing way. Furthermore, they have had large litters – never fewer than four born kittens, although not all made it all the way. Ellen has given birth to litters A, B, D and G, Tova have had C, E and F.

So far, the relationships work well here at home even though the two are now neuters. We sincerely hope that they will continue to be good friends so that we can have them all with us . A couple of weeks after castration both Ellen and Tova got some kind of hormone shot in their bodies, they thought they had kittens and walked around screaming. Both went nuts for Gulli – to Gullis delight – so now Gulli has started suckling on both of them 🙂 Guess it will pass eventually…

We've saved Gulli after Ellen and Embla after Tova, it feels fun and exciting that their lines may proceed here at home. We hope that everything will go well and that Embla and Gulli has inherited the good mother characteristics from their mothers. Now Ellen and Tova get to rest and to enjoy their retirement here, they will probably become extra mothers for future litters.
How cute they are against each other!!!
I hope it will continue like.
