F litter is here!

At last they have finally arrived – five little cuties in F litter! The night before Monday 30 June Tova gave birth to what looks to be three girls and two boys. The delivery went fine but took time – it took a long time between first and second kitten and also between the third and fourth. When it was time for the fourth it had gone just over four hours since it all started and then was Tova so tired, so tired. Contractions started well but ran out and we saw that there was a fetal bladder on the way out. Finally, we put the whole birth box in the car and went to the vet, Tova just rested. As we waited to get into the X-ray Tova managed to push (that was exactly what we had hoped for) so then came number four! Fifteen minutes later – when Tova had got some rest and we would x-ray as a precaution – there was a single cramp and with it kitten number five 🙂 Then the x-ray showed that there were no more babies.

All five have been fantastic alert and strong right from the start. They were looking for food just after a minute in the open and they defend their food with all the power they have. Tova is so great, a really caring mom. She has recovered well and has no complications after giving birth.
